Bayer - American
Stroke Challenge
Ibach &
Associates developed and implemented the award-winning American
Stroke Challenge, initially known as Bayer Aspirin’s “Strokes Against
Stroke” program. It began in 1995 and has generated more than 1.2
billion media impressions since that time. Along the way, the program
has received several awards for its creativity and media results,
including the prestigious Golden Trumpet Award in 2002.
In 2002, the
American Stroke Challenge moved its focus from golf to tennis, using
pro stars Monica Seles and Alexandra Stevenson as its spokespersons
to get across its message about stroke and osteoporosis. Along the
way, the American Stroke Challenge has raised more than $1.6 million
for stroke and heart research and has used spokespersons in the
past who have had direct and indirect histories with these diseases.
In recent years, noted pro golfers such as Justin Leonard, Nancy
Lopez, Gary Player, Tom Kite, Corey Pavin, Tom Weiskopf, Bob Tway,
Chris DiMarco, Orville Moody and Lee Elder have acted as spokespersons
for ASC.
Media coverage
arranged by Ibach & Associates has included several appearances
on the CBS Early Show with Bryant Gumbel and Jayne Clayson, in addition
to mentions on all the major television networks (CNN, CBS, ABC,
FOX, and NBC). Radio coverage has been extensive in multiple markets,
including nationally syndicated shows on ESPN Radio, ABC Radio Network,
